Senior Advocacy Associate for Gender and Education, World Vision U.S.

Whitney Groves is a Senior Advocacy Associate for Gender and Education on World Vision’s Advocacy and Government Relations team, where she leads the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts related to global gender equality and international basic education. In this role, she also co-chairs Girls Not Brides USA, a coalition of more than 60 US-based organizations committed to working to end child marriage wherever it occurs. Whitney has been with World Vision US since 2017. Previously, she was an Advocacy Associate for Child Protection, where she supported policy and advocacy related to violence against children and co-chaired the Ending Violence Against Children Taskforce. Whitney was the lead author on World Vision’s report, “New Vows:  Empowering Communities to End Child Marriage” and on “Ending Violence Against Children: Research and Analysis of FY15 U.S. Government Spending to End Violence Against Children.” She holds a BA from Pepperdine University and is pursuing a Master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in Child and Adolescent Development, specializing in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.
